Lot 5 -FINAL SALE - PIPPA SWEENEY Evening Forestry Path

Art Auction for Helvick and Dungarvan RNLI | Painting | Auction

Wet felted & needle felted Merino wool and Tussar silk 33x33cm framed Pippa Sweeney worked as an illustrator in London before living abroad with her family and finally settling in Dungarvan in 2005. She has an MA, is the creator of the award-winning children’s book ‘Words Get Knotted’ and established the Beach House Gallery where she developed her textile art and taught felting. Pippa has received numerous awards and has exhibited and sold her work internationally. Pippa is a member of The Design and Crafts Council Ireland and Felt Makers Ireland and has taught needle felting. For many years, she has assisted her local drama club (KCK) with their program and set design and is also a member of the West Waterford Arts Group (WWAG). Inspired by the ever-changing patterns, colours and textures of nature, Pippa creates textiles with multiple fibres using the wet felting process. She then responds intuitively to the bends, twists and spread of each fibre using the needle felting technique. Pippa has exhibited and sold her work internationally.
