EARLY VIEWING STRONGLY ADVISED

Multi Award Winning Team Patrick Leonard The Dublin Property Specialists are truly honoured to present this period home to the Dublin 6 property market.

No. 10 Castlewood Park is positioned on this most peaceful road in the heart of Rathmines Village.

Rathmines has a history stretching back to the 14th century. At this time, Rathmines and the surrounding hinterland were part of the ecclesiastical lands called Cuallu or Cuallan, later the vast Parish of Cullenswood, which gave its name to a nearby area. Cuallu is mentioned in local surveys from 1326 as part of the manor of St. Sepulchre (the estate, or rather liberty, of the Archbishop of Dublin, whose seat as a Canon of St. Patrick's Cathedral takes its name from this). There is some evidence of an established settlement around a rath as far back as 1350. Rathmines is part of the Barony of Uppercross, one of the many baronies surrounding the old city of Dublin, bound as it was by walls, some of which are still visible. In more recent times, Rathmines was a popular suburb of Dublin, attracting the wealthy and powerful seeking refuge from the poor living conditions of the city from the middle of the 19th century. A substantial mansion, generally called Rathmines Old Castle, was built in the seventeenth century, probably at present-day Palmerston Park, and rebuilt in the eighteenth - no trace of it survives today.

Castlewood Park is a most sought after road of family homes offering complete privacy and seclusion yet with every conceivable amenity on your doorstep. The well laid out accommodation consists of hallway, drawing room, dining room, rear lobby, breakfast room & kitchen. Upstairs there is a landing, 4 bedrooms to include large primary bedroom, bathroom & separate toilet. No. 10 dates back to circa 1880.

Although in need of full renovation, the property seems to be structurally sound and is ready to renovate. The property was always used as a family home and has all of its original features in place.

The property falls into an excellent catchment of both primary and secondary schools making it a real winner with families.

There is a garden to the front leading to side entrance whilst to the rear is a west facing garden.

There is also an abundance of on street parking.

Early viewing is strongly advised.
